Young Mormon scholars take a stand for truth! We blog for the benefit of youth. I want to spread the word about this site with everyone. Below is a short description of FRG by Erik: youth.fairblog.org/Hey everyone! My name is Erik, I represent a lds-focused youth organization called FAIR's Rising Generation (FRG). I am one of over a dozen volunteers that meet online weekly to discuss ways that we can sustain the youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who are struggling with or seeking to build their testimonies of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm posting here because our work is progressing boldly now, and I want to get more youth involved in it. I invite all of you to come visit our blog at youth.fairblog.org. Our members post regularly there about our work and about the many challenges facing our generation...my generation too, as I am seventeen years old. We've come to call it the Rising GenerationTM. Please come and read our blog and comment on our posts. If you have a question about our work or about the church, we encourage you to comment about it on our blog or write us an email using our form at youth.fairlds.org/contact.php. I guarantee that you'll receive at least a response, if not well-thought answer, to your question. Sincerely, Erik S.

Thanks for moving that for me Jenni! We are likewise featuring a link to Mormon Teen World from the FRG blog I thought I'd update this section with a link to Tommy Lugaresi's video about dating which can be found at www.youtube.com/user/fairsrg . It's hilarious, but also helpful to people who are interested in dating.

Thanks for moving that for me Jenni! You're very welcome! I did it that way so that each link would have it's own thread to peek the interest of a prospective new member in checking out the new site. Yes, I noticed that link that you added to MTW on your site. Thank you very much! I enjoyed the video! I hope that your group can make several more!

Hey cool, another FRG person joined the forum! Rising Generation is not just a site, but a movement for the empowerment of youth seeking truth. Hehe, I could ramble on for hours...but I won't. :

It was good wasn't it? Nope I don't know a Renee...unless...there's a member of FAIR with that name, but I don't know anything about her. Maybe she joined you because we linked here, but then decided she was too old or didn't have the time. Who knows, maybe it wasn't her at all.

"A Movement to Empower Today's Youth"
You don't want too many "'ments" in there. People will think you're some kind of deviant.
We should find Renee and ask her why she quit.

Aha, but that's not what I ment! FRG is not just "a movement to empower today's youth," we're empowering today's LDS youth--and young adults--specifically.

I see youth as covering both teens and young adults. Maybe we should look it up in a dictionary.

WOW! That's very impressive Erik! Who did all of the changes? That would be your's truly. FRG started almost exactly a year ago when I sent an official email to Scott Gordon, petitioning to start a FAIR youth group. Soon thereafter a member of fair named John Lynch who has a great deal of influence there got interested and he helped me really get started. How did you get started with MTW?

WOW! That's very impressive Erik! Who did all of the changes? That would be your's truly. Very impressive Erik! My friend Mary_Lynn and I were members of MormonTeen and she wanted to build her own website which she did called Marylynn proboards. About a week or two later we heard that MormonTeen was going to be offline for a few months and we wanted to stay in contact with the members. We didn't have enough time to really get the word out about us given the short notice, but a few members did find us. About this same time Lizzy created her version of MormonTeen which she called Mormonteenhangout. I and a few others joined this as well. Once we realized that MormonTeen wasn't returning any time soon........we tried to contact some of the past members of MormonTeen that we knew and we did some brain storming for a new name for her website. I suggested to her that LDS or Mormon should be in the name somewhere because it would help the search engines to find us. She then chose MormonTeenWorld and we began to grow!

Wow that's pretty cool! You know you girls did a great service to the teen community. I'm proud to be a member of this forum; it is a place where fun people can hang out and not be afraid to share their testimonies.
I don't see a lot of activity lately however. I wish we could turn that around...

I know what you mean Erik.......on most youth and Christian chat/forums you will experience a wide array of treatment. Some will be nice, but wait a minute and the language gets nasty in a hurry! I try to get on after my school work is completed, but sometimes I'm too tired to post. I'm very happy to have you as an active poster because new posts makes a site interesting to visit!

They most definitely do! We try to keep the FRG blog updated at least 3 times a week so that our readers will keep coming back. In fact Heidi Bialik just posted a great article about Evolution. I hope ya like it.
