*Note* This is the best place I believe I could find for this thread. *Note*
I am surprised that I haven't found a favorite scripture thread anywhere. Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.
Anyway, in seminary recently, we had a small testimony meeting/shareathon. I went up and many others did also, and it was all great, and there was some wonderful revelations in there. I however forgot to and missed my chance to share my favorite scripture. I had a thought that I could share one or two of mine, and perhaps we could all do the same? The scriptures have so much in them, and certain things jump out at some. I believe a collaboration of our favorite what do us good.
My favorite scripture is found in the Apocrypha. The Apocrypha is the parts of the Bible that were taken out, and there is a revelation in D+C 93ish about it, or around there. This was shown to me by a former Seminary teacher, and regardless if the scripture is what you would call doctrine or not is up to you, I think it has a wonderful, strait lesson.
Ecclesiasticus ( Not Ecclesiastes)
Ch 2 V 1
"My Son, if thou has come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation."
It was written in my scriptures, but popped out almost 2 years later. I love this scripture because I think it applies to everyone in some way or form, especially as youth in the later days.
Feel free to share a favorite scripture and why you love it!
On a side note: I am sorry I come here so infrequently guys. I really love you all, and I try to visit near everyday to read what you all have to say. With what's going on with me makes it difficult to reply or converse, but I want you to know I read everyday, and my only regret is not being able to know everyone better.
Love you all, I hope to hear from you soon.
