so i was in sunday school today, and we were talking about christ's curixtion ( spelled way wrong ) well we started talking about peter. and how he is the only person ever to denine christ 3 times. and she brought up at how the last supper christ told peter " you will denine me 3 times" and peter being the person that he is was all like no i wont i wont let that happen. and when he had denine christ it was because of pressure. but then we talked about if he did NOT denine christ if he did the right thing and said i believe in christ and i know him they would have killed him. and after christ was hung on the cross peter had taken control of the church. what if peter was killed? there would have been no church after christ! and who knows what else could of happened. so my thing for you to think about it do you think when christ told peter he will denine him do you think christ was warning him or commanding him to do it??? it never says in the bible.....whats your thought?

I think that Jesus wanted Peter to learn and grow in character from the experience! After peter realizes that he did deny Christ three times .........just like Jesus said he would do...........it gaves Peter a desire to not let it happen again!

i dont think he had the desire to do it in the first place. i think maybe christ was commanding him to do it. because christ knew if he didnt he would be killed and that christ wanted him to take charge of the church after he was gone.

well after christ died that was umm.. i cant rember the word.. when the church falls.. ahh dangit.. haha anyways the church wasnt really on the earth anymore after christ was crucified because the apostles couldnt preach or they'd be killed. So while they did write the new testament and such, I dont believe that they were actually out preaching.. because even though the church wasn't on the earth, thats how it was supposed to be.. so that Joseph Smith could restore it.. after christs death I believe we entered the dark ages where religion was kinda nonexistent.. well not necissarily nonexistent but there was the great schism that split up the churches and all this junk happened and everyone was supposed to be of one religion and thats why people started coming to the americas, for religious freedom. But so it was meant to happen that, way but Peter didnt really keep the church going, he couldnt.. but Christ also told them that Judas was going to betray him, he asked whoever was going to betray him to leave and Judas left to do his "other work" and the apostles didnt really realize that christ had told them that, uh.. haha i'll get back to this in awhile, my friends here!

what i dont understand is....if christ knew that after his death would be the dark ages then why did it matter so much that peter stayed alive? why didnt peter just be loyal and say i know christ. i realize they would of killed him but still.....god knew about joesph smith....why did keeping peter alive mean so much?

well.. haha in sunday school today i was the only one there and I kinda asked about this.. in a way.. and I was wrong some what. The apostasy didnt happen for another couple hundred of years.. So peter and those guys were out teaching and the church was still pretty strong.. umm.. ok so christ died, but before he died he told the apostles to meet him at galilee.. so when he died they were all kinda confused.. but when mary went and saw his tomb was empty the angels told her to tell the apostles to meet him at galilee. So they went to galilee and were fishihng for a few days and then christ came.. they didnt recognize him at first but they weren't catching any fish and he said try the other side of the boat.. which is what he said the first time he met the apostles.. so then they realized it was him. There were also other appearences of christ.. and i guess the guards of his tomb were bribed to say that his friends went and took him away because they didnt want the people to believe that he was ressurected.. so the people were split between the roman government and the apostles.. but yeah they preached for some time afterwards before the next apostasy.. but a lot of the teachings began to get mistaught and stuff because only the leaders could read from the bible.. anyways.. i dont know the whole history but thats kinda what my teacher said.. it would be interesting to learn all the history and the time frame it all fit in tho... but maybe peter still had a purpose? Christ knew the choices he would make and he knew peter would deny him, but that doesnt mean he necessarily wanted him to. I think it all just works into the big scene of everything. It was part of the plan and thats how it worked out. God makes no mistakes so there must have been a reason why peter needed to live.
But you know what else is really interesting? We all know about the 3 Nephites that wanted to stay on the earth till the 2nd coming right? Well John, Jesus' apostle often called John The Beloved, also stayed on the earth.. so we have like 4 people (at least that many, there might be more we dont know of) who are kinda just walking the earth, helping people here and there.. kinda weird to think about cuz we might meet them but never realize it. And my teacher told me a bunch of stories of these miracles happening.. well in a sense anyways.. and he said some people he knew were out in like ohio or illinoise, and they were starving and about ready to die and as they were walking down this road they found a basket with bread in it all wrapped in cloth and stuff.. anyways, turns out that the same day their mom had baked bread and it was missing.. and the cloth was hers and the bread was hers that her sons found off in the middle of some road.. kinda weird.. and he said that they always said they thought it was the 3 nephites.. but yeah haha.. we never know but its just interesting..

hahaha i know god had had a reason and purpose for everything he does i just wanted to know if u guys thought jeses commanded or warn peter but i like this sunject we ended up on. but the whole 4 people never dieing thing i am aware of them. my dad has told me about them many times. i just think its amazing! people who have been around forever and seen the world grown! i mean can u imagine growing up in jesus' time and then living with all this technology? i think it be to much for me! but yeah these people are just walking around they can be anywhere and they are just performing acts of simple miracles everyday! it truly is something amamzing once u think about it. id love to meet one. but i guess id never know!
