hmm... well that is kinda what happened to me.. but i was in your position.. but i am not real sure on this... id hate for you to tell him then get crushed and they are right if you like him but dont plan to date him then that would kinda play with emotions.. but then agian... it may be best to tell him but let him know that you like him but your not ready to date yet?

yeah.. the only problem with telling him is that if he likes you back, most likely things will start happening, weather thats what you intend or not, thats just the way it usually works out... there's nothing wrong with being friends tho

right now all my friends that are girls are just friends.. haha.. and things are fun just like that

I think that's wise. It would bring up feelings that would but somewhat frustrating on both sides whether he likes you back or not.
I suggest taking a mental inventory of what qualities you like in him, and why you like those qualities. Remember early dating (when you get there) is to figure out what sort of qualities you want to look for in a future spouse--not to have a boyfriend girlfriend or anything like that. (Believe me, I wasted plenty of time on that route.)

Try and keep the eternal perspective, and that tends to make things easier when the going gets rough in the short term.

But yeah Glenbob is right, when you get to the point where you start dating, dont get carried away with one guy, it just leads to pain that you shouldn't feel yet. And it's hard to get away from. Date lots of people and remember the things you like about them and when it comes time for you to steady date, you'll be prepared.
