Well to make a long story short,
Do you think its wrong to go riding and hang out with friends on a Sunday? What about not attending all 3 hours of church to go?
Ive always done this. Like last Sunday, I just went to sacrament meeting so I can go on a scooter ride with a bunch of friends and after that we had a small BBQ and hung out. In my opinion I don't that thats wrong at all (but what do I know). But some people think Im a "bad person" because of this. Or like a few weeks back I went on a scooter camping trip on a Saturday, so I was unable to attend church and the same thing arose.
What do you all think? Maybe I have my priorities messed up.

Hey So, I remember talking to you about this in chat, but from what I remember you don't really hangout with anyone at church. I think thats fine but I think you'd find church a lot more enjoyable-and spiritual-if you had connections with people there. I don't miss church very often. I'm either sick or somethings going on with me emotionally. I love sunday school The young men and young women in my ward are great. There my very good friends. I know I can depend on them for anything. (And, recently went through a rough time when I really depended on them. They came through amazingly.) I'll hang out with friends on Sunday. Non members and members. My friend Stephanie from church will come over and play board games with my family. Me and my non member friends might meet in the late afternoon and go for a walk. Sunday is the sabbath, its Gods day. But to me personally part of celebrating life and enjoying his blessings is enjoying nature and my friends company.

Nope. None of them are members.
Mine starts at the same time, but I live 30min away from where the ride usually meets and we usually meet at noon. I can swing going to Sunday School usually but if its a area Ive never been before or if I need to get there early I just come strait home

It depends on what exactly it is that you do. Do you listen to the radio/normal, every day music? Do you watch TV?
What I try to ask myself, when I think about what I should and shouldn't do on the Sabbath, is if I do it every day of the regular week because Sunday isn't just a regular day of the week. Monday through Saturday I watch TV, I go on the computer, I listen to music that isn't spiritual, I work out, etcetera. If you feel that what you do is worshipping God in some way and is a day of rest, then I say that on occassion it's fine. But skipping out on church on a regular basis is not okay.
Church meetings are extremely important for our spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional welfare. Skipping out on too many in a short period of time can take down our guard, cause us to lose blessings and make us more vulnerable to satan and his ploys. Going to church is vital for our safety. Sometimes, talking about satan makes it sound like it isn't that big of a deal, as opposed to, say, jumping off of a cliff with rocks underneath us and no safety harness, which does sound like a big deal. But that's exactly what you're doing, spiritually, if you don't go to church often enough. It's a small step at a time down a slippery slope until you start sliding out of control and ending up further and further away from the straight and narrow path.
Now, I know very little about you, and very little about your normal activities and what you do on these Sundays with your non-member friends. I'm just warning you so that you know the possibilities of what you're doing. The Sabbath is a day to focus solely on God and His love for us and His power and glory. If you're out in nature, observing His creations, then I'd say that's fine. I'm in Venture (Boys Scouts of America for girls) and we'll have campouts that go until Sunday morning, which is fine, as long as it's only on occassion. Just don't let this take away from your faith and your faithfulness to this Gospel. Pray, read your scriptures, go to church often, and fast. If you can, I totally recommend seeing if you can push your meeting time with your friends to half an hour or 45 minutes after church gets out, so that you can go to all of church instead of missing some. Church is vital, and the more you keep yourself away from it the more you put yourself in the path of satan's traps.
I don't mean to offend you in anyway. I'm just giving you some spiritual advice that I've read about from Prophets and Apostles.

I agree with Begood. ^_^ Nice picture, by the way, begood! I've found this: If I think about the activity, and wonder if it is sunday-appropriate, there is an excellent rule of thumb. If the spirit instantly says that it is good/bad, then it is simple as that. Like Jayda said, it would be bad if you do not go very often, and maybe the answer of the spirit might be 'Yes, its fine, but only every once and a while." I've just moved across town, and I've found that the youth in my new ward are great children of god. I want to be a friend to all of them. I can only meet with them during Mutual and Church, for the most part, so I LOVE going to church. I mean, that's not the only reason I go. If I hated (Imean actual hate) everyone in my ward, I would still attend if for nothing else than the sacrament, and the amazing spirit I feel when it's a really good lesson in my class. I kinda just had some thoughts in my brain and then spat them out onto paper. I hope this is good advice.

I'm just giving you some spiritual advice that I've read about from Prophets and Apostles. Yes I usually do listen to both (regular and then some church music) on Sundays. I occasionally watch TV (Sunday seems to be the only day that I have time to watch it lol). I do go to church every Sunday, but I hate to say it but Im miserable if Im not doing something (cleaning the garage, washing cars, yard work, etc). I try not to do any work that I make money on (I do scooter repair work part time out of my garage) on Sundays, but I do work on my own stuff or friends. I don't go riding every Sunday, (ride schedule goes 1 month its a Saturday and the next is a Sunday). But we do a thing called Scooter Brunch occasionally where we all meet up for brunch maybe a short ride. I try and attend every ride that I can (even if its a Sunday) just because I didnt go on any rides last year and I just don't want to miss out (if that makes any sense). I appreciate your opinion Jayda. You have put things more in perspective for me
