For most of us the thought of someone going on a mission is a very happy occasion. We know that the time that they are away serving the Lord And the church won't always be easy for them or for the people that they are leaving behind. But, we also realize of the importance of the work that they will be doing! Unfortunately, some missionaries are not able to complete their full term of service, because of medical, emotional, physical or other factors. This article in LDS Living may help shed some light and wisdom on those missionaries that have had to return early! www.ldsliving.com/story/63954-when-a-missionary-returns-early

Also, remember that no matter the reason they returned earlier in the end its better for them then to have stayed and either been ill/unsafe/unworthy and completing they're mission. And, they need a friend in a time like this.
We as members are judgmental. We're quick to do labels like "jack mormon" "molly mormon" ect.

I would not press them to talk about it either unless they wanted to!
