Here is a paper I wrote up for school, the paper is about we're writing home from a war... me being a ww2 freak I pick ww2...
Dearest Emily, how is everything back home?, how did your parents took it that I was going off to war and leaving you there to take care of everything?, I'm sorry about going away and leaving you but the Government wanted me to go out and fight, every night when I'm sitting in a foxhole I think about you, I pray every night that God will look out over us. How are my parents, have you heard from them lately? I hope they are taking care of you and helping you out at time of need.
I want to be home again, I don't want to fight anymore the deaths I seen from both sides are shocking and the thought of Hitler putting his young men who are still in their youth is just horrible. I have killed some of the young Germans, it were my orders, you could tell from the look in their eyes and how they are speaking in a low voice "Schießen Sie nicht!, schießen Sie nicht!" what means "Don't shoot" when they tell your not going to stop they begin to yell the words and others that I have not learned yet. I asked if I could get new orders and stop killing the ones we keep and ask for Intel. I cry every night when I think at how I become from when I was just growing up in my little town, everything is different, I learned to kill God's choice sprits. I can't see how God can be with us while we're fighting each other. I seen some of my comrades when they get shot up pretty bad and they prayed almost yelling in a way asking God to save them. I picked up few French words too and they are the same, some whisper it the only thing they can do when blood is splitting out of their mouths.
With the ones who don't believe in God they cry out for their mothers, but now it's all becoming one.. they cry out for both. War changes people I don't want to face the love ones I left from home.. they will all think I'm some sort of a monster. some hero of war I became huh?.
Emily's letter--
Dear Jason, I'm doing alright my parents didn't like the idea of you going off to war, but your family is helping out a lot and it's okay you left to go into the war, they needed you.
Jason. I plead with God every night that you will live to come home and be yourself again, the war changes people your right, but the one thing it doesn't change is the inside of you, God is with you I been praying that he will be sitting besides you in your foxholes. he knows what you have done in this war and he still loves you, I love you and your family does too, your always the same Jason to us
God loves everybody who's fighting in this war, even if they are the SS soldiers down to the youth fighting. Your always my hero no matter what happens, I'll be praying to see you again.
