Ehhh. It depends on what kind of conservative, honestly. Republicans are in the same bracket as conservatives (people sometimes call republicans conservatives instead) and I'm not a republican. I'd rather even be Independant than anywhere near republican or democrat because they're both such corrupt parties.
Conservatives don't necesarily believe in more freedom, anyway. I mean, they want to make some binding laws, they're in it for power, etc. It does totally depend on the views that you have, and on your outlook and such, but a lot of the people just in office in general are greedy and such.
Libertarians are more extreme. We're closer to anarchy than other groups, though we don't want anarchy because that would just create chaos.
At this point I'd say I'm a Libertarian myself. But I never really like to associate myself with one group.
I like to make my exclusive decision on my each issue, whatever category that falls under. Sometimes I'll be more liberal (I'm with Shadow I thought liberal meant more freedoms?) and sometimes I'll be more conservative. It's a case by case thing for me so I tend to stick to my own judgements over that of a designated group's.
Plus aside from now, how much I pay attention to politics is pretty pathetic. So it'd be a mistake for me to merge into any group.
I'm going to live forever or die trying.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I want to be entirely libertarian because that's what I feel is right - more freedoms and less government, which is what the Founders wanted - but with certain issues like gay marriage I find it hard to say yes, considering it's against my religion, you know?
No, liberal doesn't mean more freedoms. Liberal may SEEM like more freedoms, but underneath it all they'll have just as much stronghold on us as conservatives, especially when we get to the socialist side of the left and then eventually marxist and communist. That's where the liberals lean - towards those categories, which is why they don't mean more freedom. Of course, if you include gay marriage, abortion, etc then yeah, those are freedoms. But otherwise, they just kind of bind you.
You honestly sound more like an Independant or Moderate. My parents are Independants right now, I'm pretty sure. I'm kind of halfway to Independant, but libertarian suits me best, I think Haha.
Yeah, I get what you're sayng xD I didn't start studying and paying attention until I was fourteen. I had all of these people around me talking about it and I didn't understand, and I love a good debate, so I wanted to become informed!
Agreed. The people are supposed to be in control, NOT the federal government. In fact, that Founders wanted strong LOCAL governments to control the country (they know what their area specifically needs, where as federal is bunching everyone together) because one government, the federal government will just keep taking power until we have none left.
lol jen has replaced her addiction of the Internet with honey bees
Lol, hey JT! ;D Honey bees are fascinating! I'm learning so many interesting things about them that I may write my own book sometime!
I haven't had that much time to post in the forums, but I've answered nearly 2,200 Pm's on here since January!
I can't stand bees of any kind, fascinating or not! I don't like things that swarm or fly (except for birds, but we're talking bugs here) XP I don't even like being around butterflies (they're pretty in books)

I to consider myself moderate. I'm pro choice, pro gay marriage, animal rights activist an I'm and environmentalist. I'm a more liberal than most(if not all) of you guys here.
