Alright its been a while since I've written on any of the boards, so I'm gonna get back into it by doing my review of Demi Lovato's debut album, Don't Forget, which came out Sept. 23rd. Enjoy!!!

TRACK BY TRACK
1) La La Land- This song has a really good, familiar beat. Nice rock vibe. It's not my favorite of the album, but its one that I won't get bored of too fast. You know I always have to comment on the lyrics, and I'm not gonna lie, the lyrics arent that amazing in this song. None of the lines really struck me or anything.
My Grade:B-
2) Get Back- Get Back is the first single off this album, so naturally its gotta be good. This song is good, but its not in the group of amazing songs off this album. The words are very powerful, about wanting to get back together with someone despite all the problems you've had. It's a good song to rock out to, but sometimes it just comes on a bit too strong.
My Grade:B+
3) Trainwreck- I really, REALLY like this song. It's slower than the first 2, but its still pretty upbeat. The verse is pretty good, but the chorus is why I like it so much. It's just so fun, and it has good lyrics. It has a nice break of soft music in the bridge, then it picks up again. It also slows down at the very end, which makes for a cool effect.
My Grade:A+
4)Party- I really don't like this song very much. It's just really weird and annoying. Sometimes I'll listen to it, but most of the time I just skip it. Not very awesome.
My Grade:D
5)On The Line (feat. the Jonas Brothers)- This is quite possibly my favorite song on the album, and not because it features the Jonas Brothers. That just adds to it I guess. This is one of the softer, more pop songs on the album, but its still a long way from bubblegum pop. It has a great tune which I find myself humming a lot. Again, amazing lyrics. It's kinda like a conversation at times, which is pretty awesome.
My Grade:A++
6)Don't Forget- I wonder why they used this song as the title of the album, cuz its not that special. It's a good tune, but it's very repetative. The only back track I can hear is a guitar playing very bland quarter notes, which kinda gets annoying. Around the middle, however, it decides to go all rock for about 20 seconds, but then it just goes back to the same thing from the beginning. Pretty lyrics, though.
My Grade: C+
7) Gonna Get Caught- This is one of my favorites on the album. The lyrics talk about how she falls for a guy then finds out he's a player. It's really catchy. It's like the more pop/rock twin of Should've Said No by Taylor Swift. It's appropriately fast, and doesnt slow down much for the bridge. Highly recommended song!
My Grade:A+
8) Two Worlds Collide- I thought this was a pretty nifty song, then I was Demi say on Disney Channel that it was written about her best friend, I that made me appreciate it a lot more. It's a really cute song. It's one of the slower songs, but it sounds really good. The lyrics are magical. It's a really sweet song.
My Grade:A-
9) The Middle- The chorus is all slow and mystical, then the chorus picks up, but isn't too fast or hard. The tune is probably my favorite part of this song. The chorus after the bridge changes keys for a dramatic change. Pretty dang good song, even though I don't know what the lyrics are really about. The song kinda just ends really randomly though. It takes me by surprise every time.
My Grade:A
10) Until You're Mine- I'm not gonna lie, I haven't really listened to this song a lot. But not because its not good, though. It kinda reminds me of a Disney-esque Evanescence. It sounds kinda scary and dark, but in a good way. Pretty good, but it doesn't really stand out on this album at all.
My Grade:B
11) Believe In Me- This is a good self-esteem kinda song. It's soft and mostly piano, which sounds pretty. The lyrics pretty much talk about finding yourself and self confidence. Good message. Thankfully the lyrics are arranged well enough that it doesn't make this song sound cheesy. But, like Until You're Mine, this song really doesnt stick out in my mind when I think about this cd.
My Grade:B+

OVERALL
If you usually don't like the bubblegum pop that Disney comes out with, let me tell you that this cd is different. It leans more towards soft rock on most of the songs. It actually reminds me a lot of Paramore. It has a good mix of fast and slow, and unlike Paramore, none of the songs sound too much alike.
The Jonas Brothers were very much involved in this album. They co-wrote the majority of the songs, Nick and Kevin played the guitar tracks, and Nick and Joe did a lot of the background vocals. However, you wouldnt know by listening to it. Demi is 100% in the spotlight the entire time.
One of my favorite parts about the cd is the album artwork. It's grungy and cool, yet very simple. It's not overloaded with crazy graphics or insane outfits. And the "special thanks" section is ridiculously long, which is by no means a bad thing. The first paragraph of it is my favorite. It reads:
"First of all, I would like to thank the coolest father ever...God. I'd be nothing and nowhere without Him. He's done incredible things for my family and I, and besides, He's just awesome."
Haha I really liked the last part. You can just tell Demi is really humble and sweet.

My next review is gonna be of Taylor Swift's new album Fearless, coming out November 11th. I am so extremely excited about it, because I have to be one of her hugest fans EVER. So stay tuned...
