I think that Alyse had a good idea with this catagory so I decided to start one of my own!
Why is the average guy so clueless to what a girl is saying and feeling most of the time? Then looking at it the other way around.......Why do girls have so much trouble understanding guys and how they think?

Well there's kind of some sides to that. First possibility is that hey, we're a guy, we're stupid. It doesn't go for everyone I guess, but normally girls and guys live in different situations, so something that might make sense to a girl is a little puzzling to some of us.
Second thing is, and what happens to me a ton, is that we get what is going on, is just the gears that are in charge of responding to what we figure out have a hard time working. Takes us a little longer to think of the right thing to do.
And last of all, we do stupid things. Some guys think that if they do this or that the girl will totally be impressed and stuff... when it's really not the case. Another point for us guys being stupid I guess.
I dunno, that's how I see it.

I think that it's more of a "seeing things from a different prospective type of thing"! I posed this same thought as a question on LDS.net in the advice section and here is a link to some of the replies: www.lds.net/forums/advice-board/13986-question.html

hey guess what? i took psychology last year and we talked about this actually. fact is our brains are not entirely the same. males have less serotonin which causes them to fidget more and have more of a need to move around. also females have more oxytocin which is linked to bonding and the need to share their feelings and emotions. males have higher levels of testosterone which makes them more competitive. aside from the chemical differences females also tend to use their frontal lobes more and have a better connection between brain hemispheres so they use more parts of the brain to accomplish tasks while males do thinking in more focused areas. any ways point being that there are physical differences. also the enviornment shapes us. for example have you ever noticed how parents treat you and a sibling of the opposite gender different? like when it comes to punishment or even just what toys they bought you or how they decorated your room as a child. all these things direct us and shape us to be different.

sorry it wouldn't let me type more. but maybe a better question is why were we made so we didn't think the same as the other gender? and to that i would say if each gender thought the same we wouldn't get the variety of creative ideas, we wouldn't have that completeness between husband and wife with your spouse to act as a guardian in a way so that you don't make a stupid decision. also if you think about it, we're attracted to the diffrences in people. if everyone was just the same who would we be attracted to? its just sort of intriguing to think about how you don't necessarily know how your spouse thinks but still you can somehow get along and love them so much. i dunno, just a couple thoughts. i do know tho that God knew what he was doing and if there weren't those differences who knows what life would be like? i'm glad we have those differences. =)

What you have said really makes sense!

Dang Casey, I want to take Psychology now. That's cool, and best of all it all makes sense. Come to think of it, it is the differences that create the attraction. So I think the fact that we think differently is just natural. It's the way Heavenly Father meant for us to be. I know I'm pretty much saying the same thing as Casey, but yeah, it's a good point.
