Hey, vote guys. I'm bored and interested. My true problem would probally be, playing on my pc on a Sabbath day. I wouldn't say I'm addicted to my pc, although all of the people in my ward would say that. I do think its wrong, as its not keeping the Sabbath day holy, take part of the poll and tell us what your opinnions are about this. I'll start the poll.

Well, in the D&C it says that the Sabbath day is a time to offer up sacraments and oblations to the Lord. It is a day set aside that we remember the Lord and Worship him. Tv and computer games usually aren't uplifting or edifying in the first place (although, I admit I'm a fan of both) and don't turn our minds to the Lord. Especially nowadays, when both the television and the internet are spiritually deadly hazards if we are not extremely careful. The Sabbath should be spent in prayer and study.

I'm with the GlenBob I havent used electronics on sundays for quite some time other than to get on church related websites. But at EFY last week they said something really neat that I liked.. this guy told a story of a rich man who used all of his money to buy 7 big gold medalions with gems all over them.. after he bought them all he had left was his medalions and his donkey.. one day he was going for a walk through the town with his donkey, which carried all 7 of his big gold medalions, when he passed a young beggar. The beggar told him that if the rich guy would give him just one of the gold medalions he would be able to support himself and his family for the rest of his life. So the rich man with all the medalions took one of the medalions and placed it at the beggars feet. The beggar was quite suprised, but as he watched, the rich man went back and got 5 more of his medalions and gave them to the young beggar. The rich man thought, "if the beggar at his young age could live off one for the rest his life, an old man like me surely doesnt need 7." So with that he started walking off with his donkey and the one medalion he had left. When the beggar saw this, he thought, "if i can have 6, why not 7?" He picked up a medalion and threw it at the back of the rich guys head then ran and took the last medalion and ran off. The counselor compared this story to us by saying the 7 medalions represented the days of the week. The 7th was sunday. The Lord has given us every day except one to do what ever we would like, but a lot of the time we want just one more. So we throw a medalion at the Lord's head and take the last one. A little selfish don't you think? I thought that was a really neat story, and it's so true. Because I used to do that all the time. I'd think hey I'm playing video games or watching a movie, thats not hurting anyone.. but God has only asked one day from us, and we shouldn't take that one too.

I personally think this is a case where my bishop would say that you should "use your judgement." There is no scripture that says," Thou shalt not use electronics on Sunday," but on the same hand, you may be breaking the scripture," Keep the Sabbath Day Holy."
So really, I think this depends on the way you think. Sometimes I'm so hooked on a game or a song that I don't let myself listen to or play it because I know it'll distract me from what I should be thinking about. On the other hand, there are times where maybe I'll play some DDR or hockey on the PS2 where it's like sitting around. It doesn't really stop me from thinking about the Savior. I guess I can do things like that absent-mindedly?
So I don't know. If you want to play it safe I'd keep the electronics out. But it really is up to your best judgement.

I think that moderation is the key. Now if you substitute these activities for attending church service on Sunday....then you have a priority problem!

Hello, I did not think the question, I'm on the computer that evening. I will not. Since I am soon to be baptized. But I wonder for the holidays as today for example is the same? Sorry I didn't want to offend you.
