Why does the number 7 appear so often in the scriptures? 7 days of creation, 7 seals, DC 77 has some VERY important information pertaining to the Second Coming, etc. There's a lot of 7s. (There's also a bunch of 40s, but I'm not going into that.)
So we studied DC 77 on Friday in Seminary. We talked about a bit of extra meaning to the answers the Lord gave Joseph. If you don't understand, here's DC 77: LDS.org
So we were talking and the first few verses we talked about, we were supposed to come up wtih something that was important from the verses our little groups were assigned to study, and go up, explain the verse, and say what was important to LDS Teens today. So when the last group went up to talk about verse 15, they read this:
Q. What is to be understood by the two witnesses, in the eleventh chapter of Revelation?
A. They are two prophets that are to be raised up to the Jewish nation in the last days, at the time of the restoration, and to prophesy to the Jews after they are gathered and have built the city of Jerusalem in the land of their fathers.
And after they did thier buisness up there, my Seminary teacher added something important to that. It was that the 2 prophets will be 2 of the first presidency and 12 apostles at that time. They will be preaching in Jerusalem, and then killed. The world will cheer for thier deaths. They in Jerusalem will not move thier bodies for 3 and a half days, or half a week. Then they will be ressurected. This will be after a 3 and a half year war in Jerusalem. Then something about this will be a sign of the second coming VERY close. I don't remember the last few words exactly.
Then one kid said "Wait, hasn't that war already started?"
Our class was silent for a bit.
So what are your guy's thoughts?
(P.S. After that comment, I thought of something, I think I've heard it somewhere before. "Repent, repent, for the Lord cometh near.")
