I like it! This is different than Taylor Swift's other songs, but it is still great!

I quite like it. I find it quite ironic that they named it 'Safe and Sound', though. Lol I read and really enjoyed The Hunger Games, but I don't think that I'm going to watch it. Movies will never live up to my expectations.

Fair enough, they are a different medium and so provide some different advantages...but I don't feel like they really take full advantage of them.

Id love to hear her sing that style live. We've already been through this. Doesn't stop me from listening to her modified voice.

it should, itll make room for people with actual talent! All the freshmen vocal majors here can sing better than her and theyre terrible compared to the seniors!

At least I know what talent is.

At least I know what talent is. T. Swizzle writes good songs. There's no chance that she would ever back down and just be a song writer, though. So if I want to listen to them, I have to listen to her. I'm okay with that.

She can write good songs, but she needs to write about something other than love.

It is, but when you bash on every guy youve ever dated it gets annoying.
On a side note, Im not even gonna bother hitting that play button.

She can write good songs, but she needs to write about something other than love. We weren't talking about that. In case you haven't noticed, inspiration is mainly stirred by emotion. It's easier to write things, good things, when you feel particularly strongly about them. In this case, love. Love happens to be a big part of her life. Her music is the way she expresses how she feels. Like an open diary. What she experiences is so relatable, that it doesn't matter who she wrote the song about.

When every guy you're ever dated gives you reasons to bash on them then there's a reason to write songs about them and publicly humiliate them. If I could do that to every jerkwad I ever dated (which is ever guy I've ever dated except for my missionary right now) I definitely would. It's nice payback for how horribly they treated the girl.

Im convinced that not every guy has treated her badly though, some probably just didnt like her anymore.

JT, you are a music SNOB Taylor Swift isn't auto-tuned. Clearly. If you listen to songs that are, and compare it to hers, it's definitely not. Have you ever listened to her live stuff? She sounds exactly the same as she does in this song. She just toned down the country-side of her normal music for this song. Michael, his name is Daniel

I once heard Swift sing Love Story on Oprah, and I wasn't impressed. I don't know if it was just the recording equipment or something, and I know the bare minimum about music, but the only way I can describe it is to say she sounded hollow. There was just something lacking in her voice.

Haha I'm not surprised. Not everyone has amazing singing days. As a singer, I have awful singing days alllllll the time. The only difference is she has to sing every day. Professional singer's voices get tired out way fast. Look at Haley Williams from Paramore. On the CDs she has the most amazing range, but on stage she can't sing that high because she wears out her voice for the recordings so they either have to lower the song register, or they have to just not sing certain songs and her voice sounds weak.
I've listened to sooooo many of Taylor's live performances (and I'm actually trying to go to her concert eventually) and for the most part she sounds exactly how she does in her recordings.
